About Higher or Lower: Prices
Higher or Lower: Prices is a free guessing game about what everyday things cost. You see an item with its price on the left, and a second item with a hidden price on the right. Decide whether the hidden price is higher or lower, and build the longest streak you can.
The game uses more than fifty items, from a postage stamp to a house, with approximate US prices. At first the gaps between prices are large, but as your streak grows the items get closer in price, so the guesses get harder. Your best streak is saved on your device.
How to play Higher or Lower: Prices
- Look at the item on the left and its price.
- Tap Higher if you think the item on the right costs more, or Lower if you think it costs less.
- A correct guess adds one to your streak and moves the right item to the left.
- One wrong guess ends the run and shows the real price.
- Tap Play Again for a new run, Share Result to show your streak, or Challenge a Friend to send the same sequence of items.
Tips for a better score
- Memorize a few anchors, such as a coffee, a movie ticket and a month of rent, and compare new items to them.
- Think in multiples. Is the item about twice as much, or ten times as much?
- Remember that monthly bills and one-time purchases can be close in price.
- When prices get close, trust the sizes of everyday costs you already know.
