About Budget Connections
Budget Connections is a free word-grouping puzzle with a money theme. Each puzzle shows 16 words that secretly form four groups of four, such as needs and wants, retirement terms or ways to pay. Your job is to work out the links and sort the words correctly before you run out of mistakes.
Puzzles come from a growing collection and are dealt in shuffled order, so you do not see the same one twice until you have played them all. Your win rate and streaks are saved on your device.
How to play Budget Connections
- Tap four words you think belong together, then tap Submit.
- If you are right, the group locks in with its category name. If you are wrong, you lose one of your four mistakes.
- A message tells you when you are one word away from a correct group.
- Colors show difficulty: yellow is the easiest group and purple is the hardest.
- Use Shuffle to rearrange the words and Deselect All to start a guess again.
Tips for a better score
- Start with the group you are most sure about. Solving it removes four words and makes the rest easier.
- Watch for words that could fit two groups. A word like OVERDRAFT can sound like debt or like a bank fee.
- If you get a one-away message, swap just one word instead of changing the whole guess.
- Guessing the same four words again does not cost a mistake, so you will not be punished for repeating yourself.
